Awana Ministry

Chevis Oaks offers Awana on Wednesday nights. Awana is offered for 2 year olds through 12th grade and runs from 6:30-8:00 every Wednesday night. It is an opportunity for children and youth to participate in bible study, recreation, scripture memorization, and win prizes. Call the church office with any questions.

Young at Heart

We have a very active group of senor adults otherwise known as our “Young at Heart”. With bible studies, various covered dish lunches, fish fry’s, and such there’s just about always an opportunity to not only hear the word being spoke about but also to enjoy a great meal!

Vacation Bible School

Chevis Oaks has a long history of placing a strong emphasis on VBS. We hold this belief because VBS is a fun way to both evangelize lost children and to disciple children who already know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. For some children, VBS is their only opportunity to hear the gospel message during the entire year. We often have more children attend our VBS than we have people here on Sunday morning.

Giving to Missions Locally and Globally

The Lord Jesus has called all His followers to be generous givers. Chevis Oaks has made a commitment over the years to give to both local and global missions. Chevis Oaks gives to the Savannah Baptist Association, the Savannah Baptist Center, and our global giving focuses on the Cooperative Program and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

WMU – Women’s Missionary Union
We have a great group of women that meet regularly to learn, pray, and activley particpate in missions. We support the Lottie Moon Christmas offering for International missions as well as the Annie Armstrong Easter offering for North American missions. We do several mission projects throughout the year to support our community and show them the love that Jesus has for each one of them. We also participate in Operation Christmas Child. We encourage and invite all women 16 years and above to join us!

C.A.R.E Ministry
Our C.A.R.E ministry is all about Christians Actively Reaching Everyone and our goal is to do just that. We will meet on the third Monday of each month from 7:00-8:00 with the soul purpose of reaching out to our friends, family, and our community to let them know that we do love them and are actively praying for whatever their need might be.

People Helping People of Savannah
People Helping People of Savannah is a group of Volunteers who love Jesus and have a heart to feed the hungry and stand beside the hurting. They meet in Forsyth Park every Sunday at 12:45 across from Brighter day…rain or shine.
